Last year in our Health Science class, our teacher who is also a doctor wanted us to do this experiment. He didnt like us using our cell phones in class and talking to friends on them. He wanted to prove how bad cell phones are for us. So during finals week he told all of us to take out our cell phones and most of us had sidekicks, blackberrys, and iphones. He told us to put them in a circle which was about 25-30 cell phones, and call each other and make sure they are on vibrate. He put the corn in the middle and told us to look at what will happen but in the end it was unsuccessful. He said that it was suppose to make the corn pop. We all concluded the reason it didnt work was because the phones were newer models and the corn was from a microwavable popcorn bag. After this video we realized that the phones needed to be older models because the waves are stronger and radiated more which cause the popcorn to pop. The whole point of this experiment was to show us how cell phones are bad for you and your brain. He explained alternatives to use like bluetooth, speaker phone, and text messaging and to try to use them more often instead of putting the phone directly to your head.
